Space explored from the terrace of Charotar Education Society!

As the Charotar Education Society is celebrating its 100 years of its establishment, constant efforts are made that not a single aspect of development remains untouched during the process. So as a part of the centenary celebration, the program of star gazing was organized on 26 May 2015 at the BRD School of Bio Science Department, Bakrol.

In the presence of the chief guests Dr. Vinod N Patel (Professor at GCET College), Dr Nikhilbhai Patel (Jeevandeep Hospital) & Dr. M Natarajan (H.O.D, BRD School of Biosciences), more than 100 intellectual students & 200 parents participated in the progarmme with great enthusiasm under the expert guidance of Dr. Brijmohan Thakor and Dr. Brijeshbhai Parekh.

On seeing the active participation of the students who were standing in a queue in a disciplined manner for viewing the space from large telescope, the chairman of CES Mr. Nirav Patel and secretary Mr. Ketan Kumar Patel were impressed and happy that the motive of the all round development of the students is becoming a reality and appreciated the hard work & dedication of the employees of CES.

Such programmes of sky gazing will be regularly organized on monthly basis. The details of the programmes will be published on the prior dates in the newspapers.

As soon as the name of Vithal Kaka strikes the ears, we all become nostalgic and start remembering the days of our childhood. Vithal Kaka is still toady the symbol of inspiration for not only Charotar Education Society but for all the students who have studied in CES. Viththal Kaka focused on the overall development of the students along with their theoretical knowledge.

He used to teach the students bicycle and encouraged them to take part in sports, used to take them to watch plays and also sent them outside to help the people. In this way, there are a number my childhood memories related to CES.

He used to take constant care about the health of the students and used to compulsorily feed us dates & ghee in the winter season. We were affectionately offered mango juice by Vithal Kaka & Ishwar Kaka and sometimes Leela Baa also used to feed us mango juice without their knowledge.

Vithal Kaka used to say that education is the base of the life and if we used to lack behind in our studies, he took strict action against it. I still remember when I got 99 marks out of 100 in mathematics, he ordered me to sit beneath the DN tower and threatened me that till I don’t achieve 100 marks in mathematics, I was no supposed to leave for my home in the vacations.

I want to give the credit of my success to Vithal Kaka and will be indebted to him my whole life.

સંગીતની સાથે સુરની વાત

સુરમયી સાંજ સંતુવાદનને નામ

ગુજરાત એ પહેલેથીજ કળા અને સંસ્કૃતિનું ધામ માનવામાં આવે છે, અહીની દરેક વસ્તુમાં આધ્યાત્મિક સંગીત વસેલું છે, બૈજુ  બાવરા,તાનસેન અને તાના-રીરી જેવા મહાન સંગીતજ્ઞો નો પ્રભાવ આ ભૂમિ ઉપર રહ્યો છે.  રાગ એ  સંગીતનો આત્મા સમાન છે, તાનસેન એ રાગ માલકૌંસ ગાઈ  અને તેને શાંત પાડવા તાના-રીરી એ મલ્હાર રાગ ગાયો હતો. બસ આજ પરંપરાને આગળ ધપાવવા માટે આણંદમાં આવેલ ચરોતર એજ્યુકેશન સોસાયટીએ હવેલી સંગીત અને સંતુરવાદનનો કાર્યક્રમ યોજ્યો હતો.આ કાર્યક્રમ શ્રી સંગીત વિદ્યાલય દ્વારા પ્રસ્તુત કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો, જેમાં મુખ્ય અતિથી તરીખે શ્રી વાગેશ્કુમારજી ની ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા હતા.

આ કાર્યક્રમ ને વધુ સંગીતમય બનાવવા માટે આણંદ નગરપાલકા ના પ્રમુખશ્રી પ્રજ્ઞેશ ભાઈ  પટેલ અને સીએસ નાં ચેરમેન શ્રી નીરવભાઈ પટેલ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા હતા.આ સંતુર્વદન કાર્યક્રમની વિશેષ માહિતી શ્રી સ્નેહલભાઇ દ્વારા આપવામાં આવી હતી. તેમણે કહ્યું હતું કે સંસ્કૃતમાં તેને શતતંત્રી વીણા કહે છે અને ભારતમાં તેને કાશ્મીરનું લોક સંગીત તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. સુફી સંગીતમાં તેનું ઘણું મહત્વ છે. આ સાથે સંતુરવાદન નું સુરમયી વાતાવરણ શરુ થયું હતું.

પુ.પા કાંકરેલી યુવરાજ 108 વાગીશકુમારશ્રીએ  તેમના આશીર્વચનમાં તેમના આશીર્વચનમાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે આણંદ  અને ખેડા જીલ્લાના સંગીત પ્રેમી લોકો માટે જો સંગીત વિશ્વ વિદ્યાલયની સ્થાપના કરવામાં આવે તો સંગીત સાથેનો સમન્વય થાય અને આખા વિશ્વમાં ડંકો વાગે તેમ છે.તે ઉપરાંત પ્રજ્ઞેશ ભાઈ પટેલ એ તેમના સંબોધનમાં જણાવ્યું હતું કે વિશ્વ સંગીત વિદ્યાલયને તન,મન,ધનથી જે પણ મદદ ની જરૂર હશે તે હું અંત:કરણ પૂર્વક કરીશ. અને અંતમાં શ્રી સંગીત વિદ્યાલયના પ્રમુખ શ્રી નૃપતભાઈ દ્વારા સંગીત ક્ષેત્રને અને સંગીત વિદ્યાલયને વધુ આગળ લઇ જવાનો શબ્દ સંકલ્પ આપ્યો હતો અને ઉપસ્થિત મહેમાનનો આભાર માન્યો હતો.  આ સાથેજ એક સંગીતમય કાર્યક્રમનો સુર્મ્યી રીતે અંત આવ્યો હતો.

ચરોતરનું મોતી....!

ઇમાનદારીના પાઠ એ કોઈને ગળથુંતી માં નથી મળતા એતો અનુભવની સાથે આપણે તેનો વિકાસ કરવો પડે છે. આવુજ એક સ્વપ્નું લઈને શ્રી મોતીભાઈ અમીન આવ્યા જેમને સાથ મળ્યો આપણા વ્હાલા વિઠ્ઠલભાઈ નો અને આમ બે તેજસ્વી વ્યક્તિઓનો સાથ કેવા અદ્ભુત પરિણામો લઇ આવે છે તેના વિષે ચાલો આજે વાત કરીએ.

મોતીભાઈ નરસિંહ ભાઈ અમીન 

ચરોતર એજ્યુકેશન સોસાયટીની સ્થાપના પરગજુ તથા માનવતાવાદી વલણ ધરાવતા મોતીભાઈ અમીનના હસ્તે વર્ષ 1916 માં થઇ. ચરોતરની ભૂમિ પરના આ આણંદ સહેરને પસંદ કરવા પાછળ તેઓનું એક દીર્ઘ સ્વપ્ન રહેલું કે એક દિવસ આ જ  આણંદ, પ્રદેશનું એક કેન્દ્રબિંદુ બની રહેશે.  આજે  ચરોતર એજ્યુકેશન સોસાયટીના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ  તેઓની દીર્ઘદ્રષ્ટિ અને સ્વપ્નની  પૂર્ણતા ના પુરાવા રૂપે છીએ, જેઓ બધા જ વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પ્રથમ વર્ગે ઉતીર્ણ થઇ સ્નાતક થાય તેવી મહેચ્છા ધરાવતા હતા. મહાત્મા ગાંધી તેમને લાડકવાયા સંબોધન રૂપે ચરોતરનું મોટી કહેતા હતા.  

સરદાર વલ્લભભાઈ પટેલ જ્યારે જ્યારે આણંદમાં આવતા હતા ત્યારે તેઓ યુવાન અને ઉત્સાહી ડી.એન. ના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને મળતા હતા અને તેઓને સંબોધિત કરતા હતા. કુશળ સંચાલકોથી સંચાલિત થતી આ ચરોતર એજ્યુકેશન સોસાયટી અને ડી.એન. એકબીજાના પર્યાય બન્યા.જરૂરિયાતના વ્યાપ પ્રમાણે આજ ચરોતર એજ્યુકેશન સોસાયટીનો વ્યાપ અનેક સંસ્થા સ્વરૂપે થયો અને તે એક વટવૃક્ષ બની.

ચરોતર એજ્યુકેશન સોસાયટી

અત્યારે 41 એકરમાં ફેલાયેલી 12 શાળાઓ અને 11 કોલેજ ધરાવતી સી.ઈ.એસ. એ 27 વિદ્યાર્થીઓથી શરુ થઇ હતી. પરંતુ વર્ષના અંતે જ  તેમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓની સંખ્યા પાંચ ગણી થઇ ગઈ હતી.અને એક સર્વે પ્રમાણે 104 વિદ્યાર્થીઓ વર્ષના અંતે થયા હતા. વાસણ માંજવા, કપડાં ધોવા, પટાંગણ સ્વચ્છ રાખવું, પાણી ભરવું તથા માળીકામ કરવું- દરેક કામ કરવાનું શિક્ષણ આપવામાં આવતું હતું.

અહી શિક્ષકો અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સાથે રમતા અને શારીરિક શ્રમના ભાગ સ્વરૂપે વૃક્ષો વાવતા, મેદાનમાં માટીથી પુરણ કરતા વગેરે દ્વારા શરીરને મજબુત કરતા.

સી.ઈ.એસ. ની શરૂઆતમાં તે ઈશ્વરભાઈ પટેલના ભાઈ શ્રી વિઠલભાઈ પટેલ દ્વારા સંચાલિત કરવામાં આવતી હતી. ઈશ્વર ભાઈ પટેલ કે જેઓ ઘણી બધી  આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય યુનીવર્સીટી માં ઉપકુલપતિ તરીકે રહી ચુક્યા છે અને એ ઉપરાંત ઘણી બધું ગુજરાતની યુનીવર્સીટીમાં  પોતાના જ્ઞાન  અને આવડત નો લાભ આપી અને ઉપકુલપતિ સ્વરૂપે ફરજ આપી હતી.  

સમયની સાથે સાથે પ્રખર લોકોના હાથમાં કમાન આવતી ગયી અને  સીઈએસનો વિકાસ થતો ગયો. એ પછી તેનો ઘણો બધો વ્યાપ વધતો ગયો. અને તેનો વિસ્તાર આજે મોગરી સુધી વિસ્તરેલો છે. અને તેની ડાળીઓ સમાન જુદીજુદી વિદ્યા શાખાઓ અસ્તિત્વમાં છે.

સો માર્ક ગણિતમાં નાં આવે ત્યાં સુધી વેકેશનમાં ઘરે જવાનું નથી 

વિઠ્ઠલ કાકા નામ પડતાજ યાદોમાં ખોવાઈ જવાય છે. અને બાળપણના દિવસો યાદ આવી જાય છે.વિઠ્ઠલ કાકા એ ખાલી ચરોતર એજ્યુકેશન સોસાયટી માટે જ નહિ પરંતુ ત્યાં ભણેલા તમામ લોકો માટે સીમાચિન્હરૂપ બની ગયા છે. તેઓ તેમાં ભણતા દરેક વિદ્યાર્થીનાં  ભણતર ઉપરજ નહિ પરંતુ સર્વાંગી વિકાસ ઉપર પણ ધ્યાન આપતા હતા.

છોકરાઓને સાયકલ શીખવાડી અને રમત ગમતમાં ભાગ લેતા કરવા,નાટકો જોવા લઇ જતા અને ક્યારેક બહારના લોકોને મદદ કરવા પણ મોકલતા. આમ વિદ્યાર્થી તરીકે મારી ઘણી યાદો ત્યાં સંકળાયેલી છે. 

વિદ્યાર્થીના આરોગ્ય ઉપર તેમનું પુરતું ધ્યાન રહેતું અને શિયાળાની ઋતુમાં તેઓ છોકરાઓને ખજુર અને ઘી ખાવાનો અત્યંત આગ્રહ કરતા. ઈશ્વર કાકા અને વિઠ્ઠલ કાકા કેરીનો રસ અમને ખુબ ભાવથી ખવડાવતા અને ઘણી વાર લીલા બા એમની જાન ભાર અમને રસ ખવડાવતા.

ભણતર એ જીવનનો પાયો છે એવું અમને  વિઠ્ઠલ કાકા કહેતા અને તેમાં જો અમે પાછા પડીએ તો અમને ચોક્કસ કડક શિક્ષા કરવામાં પાછા પડતા નહિ.જ્યારે મારા ગણિતના વિષયમાં 99માર્ક આવ્યા હતા ત્યારે મને ડીએનના ટાવર નીચે બેસાડી અને જ્યાં સુધી 100 માર્ક ના આવે ત્યાં સુધી વેકેશનમાં ઘરે જવું નહિ એવું કહેવામાં  આવતું હતું.

મારા જીવનની સફળતામાં હું વિઠ્ઠલ કાકાનો સો ટકા ફાળો ગણું છું અને આજીવન તેમનો ઋણી  છું.

D.N. Students in Social Service

Memories fade as time passes. Sometimes there are certain parts in the bucket of memories which do not fade. One of them was the memory which was so preserved by Chandubhai Doshi who won the competition of preserving the memory in the best form. He won this competition and he gave the record about how vision of Vithalkaka helped the people of Anand. The saying here comes out to be true which is, God helps them; those who help themselves. Some remarkable incident took place which inspire everyone even today to help people so that humanity still stay alive in the world.

Chandubhai Doshi

The year 1969 has lot of tragedies captured in it, but sometimes there are people who help you out to fight against the problems. They encourage the sufferers help them and give them strength to fight against the problem. A vision of Vithalkaka proved it that there are still people existing in the world who believes in humanity. There were people in the Anand district who were facing some problems regarding eye infection. The students from Kasturba Kanya Vidhayalaya whose principal at that time was Premila ben and students from Dadabhai Naoroji School were given demonstrations to the students by their teachers and were given training. They were given demonstrations about the application of the eye drops to the patients. There were total 700 students who eventually helped 12000 people from Anand district. This was considered as a remarkable moment as it saved many lives with this small deed.

Courageous Lady of KKV

Women hold up half the sky. Women are always the leaders of the society though they are not encouraged but somehow they manage to show the world their talents and capabilities. The history of our country itself says that women have played an important role right from the independence to post independence era. The legacy was followed by that time till today and women have proved themselves more capable, powerful in all the aspects. The year 1970-1971 has something remarkable to tell us and make us feel proud even today which took place years ago.

Jayaben in National Cadet Corps (NCC),Chandigarh

A young lady named Dave Jayaben who took part in National Cadet Corps (NCC) in Chandigarh did remarkable work. She took part in this event and was awarded as the best cadet. This was the moment of pride for all the women out there who took part. She attended this camp and was professionally trained here, attending this camp at the time where women were not so encouraged for their work and in spite of such hindrances she managed to get the award for the best candidate in her batch. This was a big achievement made by her at that time. It is truly said by Oprah Winfrey, “Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another steppingstone to greatness.”

Students of Dadabhai Naoroji High School poured their overwhelming love to our Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani by inviting her to their event at Anand celebrating the completion of 100 years of their institute.

There were 15,000 students who wrote letter to Smriti Irani inviting her to visit them on the event day. There were number of letters which went to Delhi and on seeing this minister was so touched by the love shown to her by the students. She decided to surprise them by a formal communication from the office of Union Human Resource Development; she confirmed that a parcel carrying a mammoth 15,000 letters addressed to individual students was on its way to school. The letters contained replies to the students who had invited her individually to remain present during the Centenary Celebrations at the school.

She not only accepted the invitation but also took an effort to reply to them. There was a great enthusiasm among each of them and she was amazed to see the original thoughts of the students. The entire procedure of this event was captured; they photographed it and got it on film. The entire captured event was digitized and was sent along with the invitation to Smriti Irani. The entire affair became extremely emotional for Smriti Irani when she saw that she was personally invited by 15,000 studetns. Lastly her office sent a formal intimation about a parcel that would arrive easily this week. But the school authorities were left flummoxed when they realized that the parcel weighed over 100kg and carried reply to each and every student who wrote to her.

The entire procedure created a bond between the minister and the children.

Chalo School Chalein Hum….

“Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned at school” this is so rightly said by Albert Einstein. School is considerably the second home of a child. School is a place where one wishes to go back again and again to re-live those memories which have been left behind to build up the careers. It was a one fine evening which gave a chance to relive those memories and create a bucket full of memories. It seemed as if the empty classes were calling us the school campus was missing us the canteen was not as noisy as it was before as the school was missing us. The time took each and every person back with it.

The time allowed the entire pass out students to re-live those memories and also create some more memories to add them in their buckets of memories. As it is said that an older person becomes a kid as they grow older which somehow connected here. The older people were given a chance to attend their classes back like they were kids one more time. Attending classes, teasing teachers, bunking classes, punishments are some of the components which creates memories in the school. The most awaited part of the school is ‘Recess’; each and every student studying in school eagerly waits for the recess as they have the street vendors outside their schools to give them chatakedar snacks which includes panipuri, chanachor garam, and some more mouth watering snacks. Some of these moments were captured and they were even re-lived by the people who were attending their classes after years.

Sometimes money cannot buy certain precious things and school days are one of them. A school brings out a child hidden in you no matter at whatever age you go back to it. The memories created years back were given a chance to re-live in the reunion where each and every person attending that evening turns out to be a kid again. A bucket was filled once again by adding some more memories to it after that fine evening which took back the students to the days before.

BUCKET OF MEMORIES

The world will give you luxury, the world will give you money, the world will give you work but there is nothing like home. A home is a place where a human being creates and captures the extremely precious moments of the life. A home is a place where nurturing of a person takes place, the major role in upbringing takes place at home. The second major role in upbringing of a child is played by the school. So it is truly said that, school is the Second home of a child. A child is nurtured, brought up, groomed and made a wonderful person at the school. School is a place which holds lot of importance in each and every person’s life. The school days comprises of so much of fun, punishments, bunked classes, learning, friends, canteens, exams and many more such memories. The journey of a school life begins generally by crying as the kid does not want to leave one’s mother and go to school but this is an irony that a person cries too while departing from the school as well.

The school life has so much to capture in it, creating memories and carrying them along with oneself throughout the life is the best memory a person can have. Memories are the part of the lived events and if one gets the chance to relive those moments again is something one could always be ready for. Recalling those days, going back to the same place finding ourselves, looking for ourselves remembering how those days were and wishing to get a chance to relive them is nothing but a Reunion where one gets the chance to relive all the memories which have been left behind in the classrooms, on the benches, with the friends, with the teachers, in the canteens. Reunion is the phase which is awaited by the entire pass out students of a school it is the day when the students meets the teachers, friends and the memories which they have left far behind as they have built up their careers.  School and teachers are the most favorite place for every student to visit. Teachers are the roots of a tree where as their students are the extended branches which extract the best from the roots and at the same time teachers readily give the best they can to their students to make them a better person. The reunion day is simply the get together of all the old students back and to share a bond of love and togetherness with them by the school.

As said by popular English essayist Charles Lamb I have had playmates, I have had companions; in my days of childhood, in my joyful schooldays all are gone, the old familiar faces. This is so truly said that each and every pass out student feels after passing from the school. Leaving the school back, leaving the friends back, leaving those classes and benches, leaving the teachers and carrying the essence learnt from the teachers. So let’s carry the bucket of memories with us and let it remain with us for lifelong.
